1 When I Get Famous 2 Star Power 3 No Valentines 4 Reality 5 Me and the Moon 6 Not the One 7 2008 (St. Cecelia) 8 All For You 9 When I Get to Heaven 10 The Band Inside My Head 11 Ode to the Lonely Broken-Hearted Might-Have-Beens Depending on how you choose to look at it, "The Band Inside My Head" is either Paul’s first album or his most recent. Though issued in winter 2008, the collection is composed of material that was written in 2003 and earlier. In keeping with his day job at the time, the music is written for a full band, and ranges from the primal roar of "Star Power" to the gentler jazz-like touches of "Reality" and the prog-rock-meets-performance-art of the "Band Inside My Head".Through it all, the lyrical concerns focus on celebrity and ambition as well as the corrupting and deforming influences of the same. If that sounds like a mouthful, then just sit back and enjoy the music. While "The Band Inside My Head" does reward careful attention, one can be assured that this band also aims to please. Assisting on horns, vocals, piano and sound effects are local luminaries such as Barry Bocaner, Shannon Downey Turpin, Tonya Plinsky, Mark Cisneros, Sarah Azzara and Ian Jones. The drums are played by the redoubtable T. J. Lipple, who also recorded and mastered the project. The songs were mixed with the able assistance of Don Zientara at Inner Ear studios in Arlington VA. 1 White Cadillac 2 November 3 Sex, Drugs and Rock n' Roll 4 Why Do You Run 5 Forever's Been and Gone 6 Hello Blues 7 Open Mic Nights 8 Could Have Been Your Darling 9 Hard Luck Stories 10 Always Be My Baby 11 Nobody Knows You 12 (Scherzetto) Produced by Paul Miller/Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studios, 2007 "November" was born from Paul's attempts to write a song a day, an endeavor which occupied him for a year or so in 2004 and 2005, at the end of which he had a stack of tunes on topics ranging from hearses, to eternity, to musical experiences and lost loves. Anyway, I'm sure you get the picture... In keeping with the way the album was composed, the recordings focused on live performances by Paul with his guitar, to which other instruments were added later. Helping him out with vocals and other instruments were Shannon Downey, Tonya Plinsky, and T.J. Lipple. Read the Lyrics |

![]() $10 post-paid "Telegraph Hill"
1 Salley Gardens 2 Telegraph Hill 3 You Won't Pick Up 4 Even That Won't Make You Mine 5 Almost Good Enough To Keep 6 Better Off Alone 7 Salley Gardens Produced by Paul Miller/T.J. Lipple/Don Zientara at Silver Sonya and Inner Ear Studios, 2006 "Telegraph Hill" was the first CD of Paul's CDs to be released, even though there were several other songs and projects in varying states of completion at the time. The album is book-ended by the traditional song The Salley Gardens, and the story it tells also frames the lyrical concerns of the rest of the album. The story begins with a chance meeting viewed in hindsight and continues through attempts to keep in touch to acknowledgement, acceptance, and contemplative reflection. Completing the circle is the second half of the Salley Gardens. Telegraph Hill was recorded at Inner Ear and Silver Sonya studios by Don Zientara and T.J. Lipple, who also played drums on the recording, and was released in the winter of 2006. Read the Lyrics |
